| The first thing that I had to learn QUICKLY was that it doesn't matter where you are, if the car next to is even just slightly ahead of your car, then they have right of way - LOTS of accidents happen becuase of this! |

| I agree with Paul. Spanish drivers are extremely nervous when they drive. I would not recommend to drive into Barcelona. Taxis are not too expensive and the subway system is efficient. If you have to drive into the city, make sure you don't get there when people are leaving work. The Avinguda Diagonal at peek hours can be a nightmare. |

| avoid driving at all costs , spanish drivers are a nightmare , dangerous risktakers , drive too quickly , dont stop at red traffic lights , and thats just the taxi drivers !! |
Barcelona Overview |
The glamorous, cosmopolitan city of Barcelona is a must for any visitor to Spain. Thanks to the architecture of Antoni Gaudí, Barcelona is home to some of the most inspired architecture to be found anywhere in Spain. Stunning examples of his work include the Sagrada Familia church and Parc Guell.
For one of the best modern art museums in Spain, check out the Fundació Joan Miró. If you're after more traditional Spanish culture, then the fascinating old quarter of Barri Gòtic is sure not to disappoint. Some of Barcelona's best night life can also be found here.

Barcelona Essentials |
Barri Gotic - A pure celebration of Gothic architecture a few blocks east of La Rambla. At the core of old Barcelona, the maze of streets and alleys which make up this area have plenty of bars and cafes housed in stunning 14th and 15th century architecture. The Catedral is a standout example of Gothic architecture which is hard to miss.
Museu Picasso - Barcelona's most popular museum showcasing works from throughout Picasso's career. The majority of the museum's collection focuses on Picasso's early years.
La Sagrada Família - Highly impressive testament to local architect Antoni Gaudi. The Sagrada Familia is an awe-inspiring cathedral with magnificent spires covered in ornate sculptures and bold mosaics to vivid effect. Sadly never Gaudi never saw the sculptures completed.
Montjuïc - High above the city, Barcelona's largest open space can be found on the steep hill of Montjuïc. Providing stunning views of the local area, there are a number of galleries and museums within the area including Fundació Joan Miró, which has a large collection the Catalan artist's best works.
Las Ramblas - Barcelona's central business district comprising of five main thoroughfares. Littered with shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, Barcelona's busiest area is a great place to people watch. |
