| The need to pack in as much to see and do in Cadiz in a very short space of time was made possible having a rented car. Cadiz is romantic and good fun. Remember when driving, seems to be some unwritten law, but if the car next to you is a nose ahead then they have the right of way, so to speak. Driving here can be a challenge but once you understand the pattern the going gets better. |

| Sands of gold on sun-kissed beaches call seductively to come ‘catch some rays and ride the waves’ as they have been doing ever since the Phoenicians rocked up in 1100 BC. A lively café scene, some incredible old architecture, modern high-rise buildings and all the trappings necessary for some fun in the sun make Cadiz a city that offers something for everyone. |

Cathedral – This 18th century cathedral with a golden dome and a treasury crammed with treasure is believed to be the last great church funded by colonial wealth.
Paseo (Promenade) – A stroll along the paseo leads you past the old city, Atlantic shore, and monkeys in exotic trees bidding farewell to departing ships.
Museo de las Cortes de Cadiz – A great model of the city meticulously fashioned in ivory and mahogany is one of the prized displays to be seen at this museum.
Beaches – Two of the city’s beaches have been awarded the EU’s bandera azul (blue flag) for cleanliness, the Playa de la Victoria and the Playa de Cortadura.
Entertainment – Cafes, bars, and music from Spanish guitars to American rock, lend a lively atmosphere to Cadiz after dark, especially around carnival time in February.
