| La Gomera Airport, situated in the south of the island within the city limits of Alajero, 34 kilometers from the capital San Sebastian, is the Canary Islands' most modern airport. Inaugurated in June 1999, it was constructed in response to great social interest and demand dating back many years on the island. The terminal building is on two levels and its design combines architecture typical of the Canary Islands with art nouveau touches. |
