| Car rental is quite cheap on the island and is a very good way of getting around and seeing the island. Petrol is very cheap and as the island is small it is a very economical mode of transport. |
| Lanzarote Overview |
Lanzarote is one of Spain's Canary Islands which are situated of the coast of northern Africa. Like all of these islands Lanzarote has fantastic and consistent weather all year round, making it one of the most popular holiday destinations. On top of lovely beaches and the high temperatures, Lanzarote has much more to offer with a unique landscape which has lead to the entire island being names a UNESCO Biosphere Reserves.
There are many towns, resorts and attractions worth visiting while on the island, each offering a different experience. The main holiday resorts all have vibrant nightlife and excellent restaurants but it is never more than a short drive to the islands incredible natural features. |

The National Park of Timanfaya - These Volcanic lava fields are one of the most impressive sights on the island and must not be missed.
Museum of Contemporary Art - This excellent modern art collection is housed in the beautiful 18th century San Jose castle. The collection includes work from some of contemporary arts finest artists including Picasso and Botero.
The Cactus Garden - This fascinating sight was the last work of the artist Cesar Manrique. The Cactus Garden consists of magnificent stone statues surrounded by over 1000 different types of cacti.
The Gulf- This incredible natural feature must not be missed. The Gulf consists of a green seawater lagoon is surrounded by black sand in a volcanic crater.
The Cesar Manrique Foundation - This top class contemporary art museum has work from many famous artists including Picasso, Chilida and Cesar Manrique himself.
