| Marbella Overview |
| In the foothills of the Sierra Blanca lies the town of Marbella, settled by the Romans in the 3rd Century, and once part of the kingdom of Granada, it is today one of the world's leading holiday resorts. Marbella has sunny beaches, parks and gardens, and some really old buildings, such as the ninth century castle which was the cradle of the present city.

Incarnation Church - This 18th century building has a Baroque red stone front façade and a church organ that is 125 years old.
The Orange Square - This is where the Town Hall is located and the fine old buildings of the Magistrates House (1552) and the 15th century Santiago's Chapel.
The Castle - Marbella began its existence within this 9th century castle and spread out beyond its walls in a tangle of narrow streets.
Saint John's Chapel - This 16th century Mudejar Gothic church has carvings of the town's coat of arms, and remnants of frescos that were discovered recently.
Bazan Hospital - The Contemporary Spanish Engravings Museum is housed in the 16th century building and has collections of ancient treasures as well as modern artist's works. |
